Another good choice is to buy space in local or state tourism brochures.

And, some cities and states have magazines that cover the history and beauty of the city or region that also have affordable rates and reach the right audiences. Obviously, a good Web site with a good selection of key search words is also essential. Direct-mail advertising is also sometimes considered if good targeted lists can be found.

A bookings fee is paid by a travel agency to a GDS while the distribution payment represents that portion of the bookings fee that is paid back to the travel agency by the GDS.
