Describe the strategies involved in assessing someone's risk for suicide, and what responses are appropriate if a person is deemed as being at imminent risk for suicide.
 
  What will be an ideal response?

People with sexual dysfunction, paraphilic disorders, or gender dysphoria
 
  a. typically have only minor problems in life.
  b. often have life-changing stressors.
  c. suffer enormous daily distress.
  d. find nearly total comfort by being around each other.

- assessing risk of suicide is critical in mood disorders and often focuses on details of a suicide plan, access to weapons, and support from others
- addressing suicidal behavior, sometimes via hospitalization, is a critical aspect of treating people with mood disorders
- in addition to hospitalization, therapists may also use a no-suicide contract, although some would argue that a commitment to a treatment statement would be more effective
