Is it necessary for all counts and weights to be performed in the presence of the delivery driver to receive credit for shortages?
◦ No;  many vendors allow a credit memo based on purchaser report of shortage
◦ No, but the driver must return and verify the accuracy of receiving short count
◦ Yes, the driver must be present to verify the short count in order for a credit memo to be issued
◦ Yes, the driver must perform an independent count in order for the operation to receive credit
