Question 2

Your 10-year-old son has just been diagnosed with dyslexia. What is your next step in regards to his schooling?
◦ Investigate private schools because public schools are not required to give him any accommodations.
◦ Develop an IEP with his teacher so that he can be moved to a classroom with other students who have dyslexia.
◦ You don't need to anything. He will probably grow out of his dyslexia by the time he goes to high school.
◦ Develop an IEP with his teacher so that he has accommodations to stay in a class with nondisabled peers.
