How does the steppingstone approach work?
◦ Students read extra of books on their level to build fluency and stamina.
◦ Students read books below their level to build their confidence and to show them that reading doesn't have to be difficult.
◦ Students read books above their level to build vocabulary and to get used to reading challenging books.
◦ Students read increasingly difficult books on the same topic so that they are prepared to read a challenging book on that topic.
