Answer to Question 1

The Five-Factor Model of personality is a well-known dimensional model that classifies behavior along five different dimensions. These dimensions include extraversion, neuroticism, openness, conscientiousness, and agreeableness. After a behavior is classified, it is then rated as being maladaptively high or low on each dimension.
Proponents of this model believe that it provides a more comprehensive picture of personality than the categorical model and would eliminate the need to give several personality disorder diagnoses in order to adequately describe behavior. Also, because this model highlights personality strengths, it could also reduce the stigma associated with labeling someone with a personality disorder.

Answer to Question 2
