You have isolated a plasmid from E. coli. You get the following results, using three restriction enzymes, 1 XhoI2 BamHI, and 3 EcoRI to perform six different digestions: single digests using each enzyme alone and double digests using each combination of two enzymes.

enzyme# fragmentssizes (in kb)
XhoI110
BamHI23.75,  6.25
EcoRI24.25,  5.75
XhoI +  BamHI31.25,  3.75,  5
XhoI +  EcoRI32,  3.75,  4.25
BamHI + EcoRI41.25,  2.5,  3,  3.25

Draw a restriction map of the plasmid.

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
