Answer to Question 1

Retrograde amnesia is the loss of memory for events before the start of an illness or the experience of a traumatic event. Anterograde amnesia is the inability to learn or remember new things after a particular point in time.

Answer to Question 2

Patients with dementia may appear to be apathetic, or emotionally flat. On the other hand, sometimes patients with dementia may have unpredictable and exaggerated emotional expressions. Nevertheless, depression often accompanies dementia.
