You are treating a 14-year-old female basketball player who fell during a play. She is complaining of pain to her right ankle. You notice the ankle is swollen and discolored. After splinting the injury site, what should you do next?
◦ Elevate the extremity.
◦ Reassess distal CSM.
◦ Apply a cold pack to the injury site.
◦ If possible, reapply her shoe to further minimize swelling.
