You have a few days off duty and are spending the time at a nearby lake. While you are relaxing on the dock you notice a swimmer in distress. The swimmer is about 25 feet from the shore and there is a rowboat with throwable flotation cushions tied to the dock. There is no lifeguard on duty. Which of the following should you do first?
◦ Call for help and try to throw the cushion to the swimmer.
◦ Find someone who can swim to try to swim out and save the patient.
◦ Row the boat out to the swimmer.
◦ Use the cushion to float out to the swimmer.
