Your patient is a 34-year-old man with cerebral palsy. He fell down several stairs and is complaining of neck pain. How should you alter your immobilization technique to accommodate his disability?
◦ In order to properly immobilize a patient, it is important not to alter your technique.
◦ Use towels or sheets to fill voids caused by contractures.
◦ Forgo use of a cervical collar.
◦ Use a cervical collar but secure only the head and feet to the long backboard.
