When Homer sent in his rsum and cover letter to the owner of the energy plant, he wanted to know a good way to increase his chances of being interviewed. Bart told him he should
 
  a. learn something about the company so he can make a case about how his expertise fits in with the organization and job.
  b. make his rsum glow in the dark so it would stand out and get him an interview.
  c. include his leisure activities in the rsum to show what a well-rounded person he is.
  d. inject humor into the cover letter to make the manager want to meet him.

When there is a known job opening,
 
  a. you should take the time to learn something about the company to make a case of your own related expertise.
  b. you should go in person with your rsum and wait for someone to agree to see you.
  c. you should send in your rsum and a cover letter and call daily until they interview you.
  d. you should send in your rsum with a handwritten note and follow up in a few days.
