Dr. Young is doing research in a country that values boys more than girls and encourages strict obedience of children. Children want to please their parents and have little independence.
 
  They tend to follow the path their parents want for them in all aspect of their lives including marriage and career choices. Based on worldwide trends in parenting, what can be expected over time? a) There will be less emphasis on obedience and more on independence.
   b) The birthrate will rise as the country becomes more industrialized.
   c) There will be a stronger preference for female children because of inheritance and fertility.
   d) There will be fewer unrelated adults participating in the lives of the children.
