Bones of the front limb include the coffin (P3, distal phalanx), navicular (distal sesamoid),
short pastern (P2, middle phalanx), long pastern (P1, proximal phalanx), sesamoids, cannon
(metacarpal 3), splint bones (metacarpals 2, 4), carpal bones (carpals 14, radial,
intermediate, ulnar, accessory carpal), radius, ulna, humerus, scapula.

Answer to Question 2

A radiolucent material is used to eliminate air pocket artifact. Play-Doh is the material
most commonly used for this purpose.
