Answer to Question 1

Spark plug malfunctionInspect the spark plug to look for signs of wear before it
becomes a problem
Engine running poorlyCheck the air cleaner and fuel system for debris that can
keep the small engine from performing correctly
Engine will not startProperly store the engine to prevent fouling the fuel, check
the fuel system for debris, inspect the pull start for frayed ropes or broken handles

Answer to Question 2

Eye protection should be worn at all times.
Fuel should always be stored only in appropriate containers.
Removing the spark plug wire can help limit sudden engine start and injury from
turning blades or other moving parts.
Equipment holding the small engine should be properly stabilized and secured
during servicing. This will limit roll back of lawn mowers or falling equipment from
a table or other work station.
Always use the correct tool to service equipment
