A patient being followed for latent tuberculosis has been on INH therapy for 2 months. When reviewing the laboratory tests, the nurse notes that the liver function test results have become grossly abnormal. The nurse will instruct the patient to:
 
  1. continue the drug unless jaundice, nausea, or itching develops.
  2. continue the drug and have liver function tests repeated weekly.
  3. stop the medication immediately. Other drugs will be prescribed.
  4. stop the drug and restart when liver function returns to normal.
