Answer: The looking-glass self is a term coined by Charles Horton Cooley and refers to the notion that the self evolved through the process of seeing others' reactions.

Answer: The socius, a term coined by James Mark Baldwin, is a social unit that refers to our social self. The socius is the outcome of the exchange between the self and the other (or alter).
