Answer to Question 1

Joanns choice of consuming a very balanced diet built around dairy foods, legumes, salads, and fish demonstrates her positive approach to meeting the challenges wrought by both scoliosis and osteoporosis. The food choices that Joann has made allow adequate amounts of vitamin D, protein, calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium in her diet, all nutrients of great importance to keeping her bones strong and preventing further weakening of her spine.
