Discuss the scope of the Endangered Species Act.

Question 2

Professor Winona Wright has just read an article in Fortune magazine about issues in the Enron bankruptcy. She wishes to share it with her class that morning and makes 50 copies to distribute to them. Professor Wright:

Answer to Question 1

The Endangered Species Act with the Babbitt v. Sweet Home case has been greatly expanded to provide protection not just for the destruction of the animals, but for the interference or destruction of their habitats, whether those habitats are located on private or public lands. In some cases, the ruling will mean that landowners will not be permitted to develop their properties.
