Answer to Question 1

D

Answer to Question 2

Hemolytic jaundice is secondary to the increased breakdown of red blood cells resulting in increased formation of bile pigments beyond the liver's ability to conjugate and excrete. Hence the unconjugated bilirubin accumulates in the blood as in hemolytic anemia or hemolytic disease.
Hepatocellular jaundice is secondary to severe damage to the liver tissue and bile channels, impairing its ability to conjugate and excrete bilirubin.
Obstructive jaundice is secondary to the obstruction of the bile duct preventing bile excretion into the duodenum as in cancer of the head of the pancreas or in case of a gallbladder stone impacted in the common bile duct. In this case, conjugation and excretion are not impaired.
