Answer to Question 1

ANS: C
Fibrinogen levels, factor VIII, and platelet activity all increase during aging. Plasminogen activator inhibitor, the major inhibitor of fibrinolysis, increases with aging, so fibrinolysis of clots decreases.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
Bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract is the most common cause of iron deficiency anemia in older adults.
