For each piece of equipment that requires regular maintenance, the medical office should keep a log of the maintenance requirements, schedule, and responsible party. When equipment must be maintained by the manufacturer or another professional repairperson, the log should include those parties' contact information. Anyone who performs maintenance should sign and date the maintenance log.
