What types of problems might result if a medical office manager is not thoroughly knowledgeable about how patients' health insurance coverage applies to the patients' care?

A medical office manager who is not thoroughly knowledgeable about health insurance issues may give inaccurate information to patients. This manager may also neglect to obtain proper authorization or documentation for certain types of care, and may therefore not be paid by the insurance company for those services.
