How well do you think a manager who forms friendships with his staff would do if he had to have a conversation with employees about theft in the office? What suggestions would you make for this type of manager before he has this conversation?

This can make conversations awkward for the manager as well as the employee. The manager can avoid this by treating all employees the same, without showing any favoritism for one.
