Imagine that a patient overhears a physician and the office manager in a heated discussion in the office.
 
  How might that affect the patient's view of the physician or the office? What would be a better venue for this physician and office manager to hold their conversation?

Answer to Question 1

A patient overhearing such a conversation may think the physician and office manager are unprofessional or unable to keep their emotions in control. This could lead the patient to believe the physician is untrustworthy or prone to outbursts. Any such conversation with the physician should be held out of hearing range of all patients.
