Answer to Question 1

D
After holding direct pressure on the bleeding area, a tourniquet may be implemented. The nurse should immobilize the leg and avoid position changes that could exacerbate bleeding. Elevation of an injured extremity is no longer recommended.

Answer to Question 2

B
The flutter dressing will allow the air to leave the pleural space, but not allow any more air in. The collapsed lung will begin to reexpand.
