Exposure to products used in refinishing furniture, a diet of red meat, and failing to use sunscreen when working outdoors are not risk factors for thyroid cancer.

Hyperparathyroidism can cause abdominal pain, dysrhythmias, and hypertension. Diarrhea and reduced urine output are not manifestations of hyperparathyroidism .
