Answer to Question 1

Answer: 4

1. MRSA is treated with antibiotics not yet resistant to it.
2. The treatment of MRSA is limited to specific antibiotics and contact precautions.
3. It is not recommended to admit a client with MRSA into a room with another client with an infection because of the risk of cross-transmission.
4. Since MRSA is often transmitted on the hands of health care workers, contact isolation reduces the transmission of direct skin contact and skin to clothing contact. Clients should be isolated to prevent spread of the bacteria.
