The nurse should encourage a client experiencing inflammation to eat a diet high in carbohydrates, protein, and vitamins because:
 
  1. protein supports catabolism.
  2. vitamin K helps the blood stay thinner.
  3. carbohydrates are necessary to support extra energy needs.
  4. carbohydrates help anabolic activity.
