Dialectical behavior therapy is a cognitive and behavioral therapy used specifically for borderline personality disorder. Dialectical behavior therapy has been shown to decrease suicidal behavior, hospitalization, and treatment dropout while improving interpersonal functioning and anger management. This is what the client most likely will be prescribed. Exercise therapy and occupational therapy are not known to improve borderline personality disorders. Vitamin B12 injections might be indicated if the client demonstrates depressive episodes.
