Answer to Question 1

Answer: C, D, E

It is important to assess the client's creatine clearance to determine kidney function prior to initiation of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) therapy. It is also important to assess the client's liver function tests and complete blood count (CBC) prior to initiation of NSAID therapy. There is no need to assess the client's electrolytes or serum amylase; these are not factors that are affected by NSAIDs.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: B, C, D, E

Diagnosis of increased ICP is made on the basis of observation and neurologic assessment; even subtle changes can be clinically significant. Testing can include CT scan with and without contrast, MRI, electroencephalogra m, and cerebrospinal fluid evaluation. Bronchoscopy is not performed routinely for a client with increased intracranial pressure.
