Answer to Question 1

Even if the surrogate mother was fully informed of the risks and
freely consented to the arrangement, there are some things money cannot buy, the
court said. Do you agree with the court's approach of protecting women from exploitation
or do you believe adult women should be able to make this decision on their own? What
reasoning supports your conclusion?

Answer to Question 2

Parents typically must meet certain educational standards set by state
governments. Would the Amish practices be more acceptable today in this environment?
Research the requirements in your state for homeschooling to see how they compare
with expectations for public schools.

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
