A client and her newborn are discharged when her infant is 12 hours of age. The community nurse is making a home visit to collect a blood sample for the normal screening tests for newborns.
 
  These tests are usually completed before a newborn and mother are discharged from the hospital on the second day after delivery. What information should the nurse give the family? A. The tests will prevent infants from developing phenylketonuria.
