Answer to Question 1

C
A woman's self-concept is affected by the congruence of her birth experience and her expectations. If there is congruence, this affords the mother a greater degree of perceived control. Parity, age, and marital status may be factors, but they are not the most significant factor.

Answer to Question 2

A
Hgb 8 gm/dL would result from excessive blood loss and Hgb should begin to rise prior to discharge. With this low Hgb postpartum, the mother would not be discharged early. Birth at 38 weeks' gestation would not delay discharge, as this normal. Output 200 to 300 mL each void and scant amounts of lochia rubra would not delay a mother's discharge because they are normal.
