Answer to Question 1

B
Oral contraceptives increase the risk of thrombophlebitis and are contraindicated in women with a history of thrombophlebitis. Frequency of alcohol use does not have an impact on oral contraceptive use. Although a nutritional assessment is an important part of the assessment process, it does not have a bearing on the use of oral contraceptives. Presence of a monogamous partner is not a prerequisite for using oral contraceptives.

Answer to Question 2

B
A doula is a woman who is employed by the pregnant woman to assist her through labor, delivery, and sometimes the first 2 weeks postpartum. The doula may be trained and certified, or she may have no clinical training but be able to reinforce breathing techniques and provide massage or other non-pharmacologic methods of pain relief.
