Answer to Question 1

A
Hofstede's dimensions can be used to segment countries based on individualism/collectivism, masculinity/femininity, uncertainty avoidance, and power distance. The Scandinavian countries have a small power/distance (i.e., are more egalitarian), have a low uncertainty/avoidance (i.e., take more risks), rate high on individualism, and have a low level of masculinity (i.e., low ambition and competitiveness). This may be found in Micro-Segmentation: Focusing on the Target Consumer section (7-3c).

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
