The Lapps of northern Scandinavia follow the herds of migratory reindeer as they cross the mountains from one pasture to another. In addition, the Lapps catch and domesticate many of them and use them for draught animals as well as food.
 
  The people are entirely dependent on the reindeer for meat and milk and other very useful by-products including fur, hides, bones, and antlers. The Lapps are:
