Answer to Question 1

Answers will vary but may include the amount of blood and other fluids that are present in the body; the condition of the arteries; and the force of the heartbeat. Age, exercise, obesity, food, pain, stress, stimulants, steroids, and some medications can cause the blood pressure to increase; whereas weight loss, fasting, depression, and blood loss can lower the blood pressure.
