Answer to Question 1

TRUE

Answer to Question 2

Fibre Channel is an implementation of a switched fabric that is usually associated with a SAN. A Fibre Channel can utilize a half-duplex or full-duplex. To differentiate Fibre Channel from fiber-optic, note that the spelling of fibre is somewhat unusual. Fibre Channel provides a high-speed switched environment in which any device on the network can connect with any other device and then communicate over a dedicated high-speed link. Fibre Channel functions at the physical and data link layers of the OSI and TCP/IP models. Using standard networking hardware elements, Fibre Channel implements much of its functionality in the hardware that it uses rather than programmatically.
