  a. focus on a desired image and apply the image to a desired outcome.
  b. focus on taking slow, deep abdominal breaths and exhale in reverse.
  c. focus on repetition of a word or phrase, and return to focus if distracted by thoughts.
  d. tense and relax the body from toes to head, then reverse the process.
