Answer to Question 1

D
When nurses and health care professionals; respond to an innate sense that helps them act in certain situations (Gardner, 2003), also referred to as gut feelings, this is called intuitive thinking. Reflective thinking is watching or observing ourselves as we perform tasks or make a decision about a specific issue (Pesut & Herman, 1999). Critical thinking is thinking about your thinking while you are thinking as a means of improving your thinking skills (Paul, 1992), and clinical thinking is what nurses and health care professionals do when in a clinical situation but is not a specified type of thinking or decision making.

Answer to Question 2

A
The nominal groups technique is another type of group decision making that can be useful in certain situations. Nominal refers to the nonverbal aspects of this technique in that the first step, no discussion is involved and group members write out their ideas or responses to questions posed by the group leader.

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
