Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 4

The electronic health record is rapidly becoming the norm. Instead of spending hours on manual recording, the nurse can spend that time with the client. Because the computer is often in the hospital room, at the clinic, or even in the home, the client can also share and participate in the development of the record. Increased graduates from schools of nursing would increase the numbers of available nurses in the workplace and decrease the workload on individual nurses. The NCLEX test is to test basic safe practice for a nurse entering the workplace, and does not determine the nurses' responsibilities once employed. The National Council of State Boards of Nursing are involved in the licensure processes of nurses and not job related responsibilities within the workplace.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 2

To continue with the focus of preserving the best of what nursing has been, the evolution of advanced practice nursing to more autonomous roles should be driven by the nursing profession's vision and leadership as opposed to being reactive to outside pressures, the ANCC, or nurse leaders.

Every flu season is different, and even healthy people can get extremely sick from the flu, as well as spread it to others. The flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May. Every person over six months of age should get an annual flu vaccine. The vaccine cannot cause you to get influenza, but in some seasons, may not be completely able to prevent you from acquiring influenza due to changes in causative viruses. The viruses in the flu shot are killed—there is no way they can give you the flu. Minor side effects include soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given. It is possible to develop a slight fever, and body aches, but these are simply signs that the body is responding to the vaccine and making itself ready to fight off the influenza virus should you come in contact with it.
