The use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) by adults and children has significantly increased in the last decade. Individuals with chronic and/or disabling condi-tions are especially interested in CAM for the following reasons:
 
  1. CAM providers are easier to talk to.
  2. CAM is better grounded in scientific evidence.
  3. Dissatisfaction with the current health system.
  4. Eastern medicine offers better cures.

Question 2

Home care includes disease prevention, health promotion, and episodic illness-related services provided to people in their places of residence. Home care does not only refer to home health but is much broader. Research suggests:
 
  1. Homebound people cannot travel to the health care facility.
  2. Nurses would rather care for people in their homes.
  3. The home is the optimal location for certain health and nursing services.
  4. Health care in the home is better than at an acute care facility.
