Answer to Question 1

ANS: 3

Feedback
1 These groups do not use proportionately more healthcare services than other populations. Migrant workers and refugees may actually use fewer services.
2 While migrants and refugees may have increased risk of exposure to lead in the environment due to their employment and economic status, they are no more likely than other populations in poverty to suffer this exposure.
3 Each of these groups is at increased risk for disease and disability, and all, therefore, are considered vulnerable populations.
4 There is evidence that men smoke more than women, although that gap is decreasing as more young women begin to smoke. Whites and Hispanics tend to smoke more than other groups. However, there is no evidence that these specific groups are more at risk for smoking than other groups.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: 4

Feedback
1 Home visiting for companionship is not a skilled nursing intervention.
2 Acute care in the home is provided by home health RNs, not PHNs.
3 Tertiary plans of care are generally developed by nurses employed in hospitals and clinics.
4 PHNs focus on primary and secondary prevention in the community with individuals, families, and populations.
