Define and discuss the similarities and differences between unconditioned motivating operations (UMO's) and conditioned motivating operations (CMO's).

All conditioned motivating operations (CMO's) are motivationally neutral prior to their relation with another MO or to a form of reinforcement or punishment.

Answer to Question 1

Answers should include a) a general definition for both UMO's and CMO's, b) how each of them is similar and different in the learner's repertoire, and c) the various types of effect each one possesses.
