Answer to Question 1

ANS: One of the cruelest ironies, of course, is that most of these vulnerable populations are trying to adapt to problems not of their own making. Climate change has been caused primarily by the industrialized worlds (Europe, Japan, Russia, the United States, India, and China) burning of fossil fuels, which produces the globe-warming gases.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: Since these people live so close to the earth, they have acquired a wealth of knowledge about their immediate environment and, as a result, are sensitive to minute changes in animal behavior, water temperatures, amounts of rainfall, planting cycles, climate, and soil conditions.
