ANS: Through symbols, art communicates a good deal about the values, beliefs, and ideologies of the culture of which it is a part.

ANS: If the process is not successful, can result in increased frustrations and tension for the artist. It can elicit disturbing or painful emotions that can lead to psychological discomfort for the viewer.
