Answer to Question 1

B
Enteric-coated drugs are tablets with a specialized coating so that they do not dissolve with gastric acid. They have increased effectiveness and decreased stomach upset. They should never be crushed or dissolved because this disrupts the coating.

Answer to Question 2

C
The tetanus booster should be given in the dorsogluteal muscle. Because of decreased muscle mass, the deltoid muscle is not a good site (response A). The abdomen is not typically a location for other than subcutaneous medications (response B). For a booster that is to be administered every 10 years, response D is unnecessary.
