Answer to Question 1

D
The patient may not want to appear uninformed and may not know what po means, how many pills equal 20 mg, or what is qd; in addition, an episode of ER made it clear that in English, once is one time, but in Spanish, it means 11 . Response D is the best way to convey the drug, the amount, the route, and when to take it by associating the medication with a task.

Answer to Question 2

C
Common complications of MI in the older adult include thrombi and emboli, CHF, arrhythmias, and extension of the infarct. Tuberculosis (response A) and diabetes (response B) have no bearing on MI. Nausea and vomiting (response A) can be a symptom of MI, and deconditioning (response D) can occur because of a decrease in exercise after MI.
