Answer to Question 1

A
Hepatitis A is usually caused by contaminated food or water, and people traveling to areas where the disease is prevalent should receive the hepatitis A vaccine. Men who have sex with other men are at risk for hepatitis A, however, and so it is considered an STD for homosexual men (response D). Hepatitis B is transmitted sexually or by exposure to infected blood and can be carried by an asymptomatic person.

Answer to Question 2

C
The signs and symptoms of West Nile virus include fever, headache, malaise, and muscle pain. West Nile virus is transmitted via mosquitoes, with an increased prevalence on the East Coast.
